One of the most terrifying things that can happen to your business is a ransomware attack.<\/p>\n

This is where hackers take control of your network and encrypt all your data, making it unusable. They won\u2019t undo the damage unless you pay a big fee \u2013 a ransom fee.<\/p>\n

Did you know that often hackers get access to your system up to a hundred days before they launch their attack?<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what makes ransomware so difficult to reverse once an attack has started. They take their time to change your IT system and prevent your IT partner from fixing it.<\/p>\n

Here are three ways you can detect if hackers have already broken in.<\/p>\n

  1. Regularly check the software you have installed. If you notice new software you didn\u2019t download, it could be a sign that you have an intruder.<\/li>\n
  2. Look for security software that\u2019s been disabled. Or other settings that have been changed recently, but not by you.<\/li>\n
  3. Make sure your list of system administrators doesn\u2019t grow. Check it often to look for new or unusual admins.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
