By October 2026, Settra had claimed more than 93 victims. How Qilin Is Exploiting the Palo Alto GlobalProtect Flaw (CVE-2026-0257)<\/h2>\n

Separately, Qilin ransomware affiliates have been confirmed exploiting CVE-2026-0257<\/strong>, a critical authentication bypass in Palo Alto Networks’ GlobalProtect VPN. This flaw allows attackers to bypass authentication entirely if a specific configuration is in place — specifically, if authentication override cookies are enabled and the gateway uses a particular certificate setup. Exploitation began in mid-May 2026 and has since expanded into full ransomware deployments across multiple industries.<\/p>\n

Palo Alto initially rated the vulnerability as Medium severity — then upgraded it to High after confirming active exploitation in the wild.
