Presents Local Entrepreneur with its “Community Service” Award
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Cheryl Nelan, owner and president of CMIT Solutions of Monroe, won the “Community Service” award at the company’s 23rd annual convention in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Themed “CMIT Elevate,” the whole CMIT system—corporate leadership, franchisees, technicians and supplier partners— came together to strategize, grow, and develop. The four days included extensive sales and marketing training, educational seminars, and opportunities to share best practices. The convention also provided opportunities to celebrate several key accomplishments for supplier partners, franchisees, and the brand as a whole.
Throughout the convention, CMIT Solutions bestowed honors upon top-performing office owners and their team members in attendance for sales, customer retention, and superior operations over the past 12 months. The CMIT Solutions home office completed comprehensive assessments prior to deciding which office would win the prestigious “Community Service” award. It is presented to those who are leaders in their community, serve others in a humble way and set an example for others to follow.
Nelan achieved the recognition for the work she has done in supporting the not-for-profit community in Rochester NY. This includes serving as a trustee and board member of the National Susan B. Anthony Museum and House and serving on the Board of the local Webster Chamber of Commerce for the past 5 years. As a Rochester Rotarian, she volunteers her time and donates to focused charities, including the Sunshine Campus serving special needs campers and Roberto Clemente Elementary School. Her business provides IT services to a number of local not-for-profits and gives back through sponsorship of many of their fundraising events as well. Community service has never been an “add-on” for Nelan, it is an integral part of her profession and business model.
