{"id":1517,"date":"2017-11-13T15:33:03","date_gmt":"2017-11-13T15:33:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cmitsolutions.com\/stamford\/?p=1517"},"modified":"2023-02-12T23:50:48","modified_gmt":"2023-02-13T05:50:48","slug":"disaster-planning-machine-fails","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cmitsolutions.com\/stamford-ct-1161\/blog\/disaster-planning-machine-fails\/","title":{"rendered":"Disaster Planning for When Your Machine Fails"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All too often we don\u2019t do Disaster Planning until an disaster occurs.\u00a0 All too often we get calls that a machine is getting a blue screen, or a black screen, or some cryptic error message, loud clicking noises.\u00a0 These days its not only a hard drive failure that can create the need to rebuild your machine, but can also be caused by corruption of one or more of the operating system files.<\/p>\n<p>Why do hard drive failures occur?\u00a0 Its a physical, moving, spinning part.\u00a0 Eventually something wears out or goes a stray.<\/p>\n<p>How can a operating system file get corrupted?\u00a0\u00a0Your machine, whether its a Windows or Mac have software from many different companies.\u00a0\u00a0These companies employ\u00a0software developers who must write\u00a0and test code anticipating the other software that is running\u00a0on your machine.\u00a0All these developers are writing, testing and sending out code without knowing exactly what other developers are doing.\u00a0 Sometimes one piece of software doesn\u2019t play nice with something else, and can sometimes create a corruption.\u00a0 Your machine shutting down in the middle of an update, or pushing the power button can also create a corruption.<\/p>\n<p>Preparation is your best defense. Here is a list of what you need to a personal computer.
