Senior Network Engineer Level 3

CMIT Solutions of Stamford has an opportunity for a Network System Administrator who is tech hungry, service-obsessed and team oriented, to join our Advanced Technical Support Team in Stamford, CT team.

CMIT sets the standard for exceptional service as a Managed Services Provider and the successful candidate will become a technical leader, responsible for level 3 network and server design and implementation projects, as well as handling technical support escalations in a manner consistent with CMIT standards and protocols.

This position requires someone who is an expert with networking technology including LAN, WAN and Wifi, has great customer service and communication skills, and is a master at follow up and managing projects to completion.

The ability to work proactively and cooperatively as a team is essential as this position is expected to resolve team driven escalations, as well as issues with technology vendors and outside service providers. Participation in client technology reviews, upgrades and change outs is expected.

The successful candidate will be a part of a great local team, as well as the global CMIT team of more than 800 IT Professionals.

Work will take place at our Stamford, CT office, but once the successful team member is successfully transitioned, upto 40% of work hours can be performed remotely.

Candidates must demonstrate that they have:

  • Exceptional client engagement skills and professional acumen
  • Time management abilities to balance service requests, follow up and projects
  • Network Engineering competency in Sonicwall firewalls, managed switches,networkdesign and large area wifi
  • Competency in Windows Server – Active Directory, File Servers, Printer Servers, Virtual Servers (hyper-V and VMWare)
  • Security concepts and techniques
  • Ability to be engaging and personable with clients
  • Windows 10 work groups and domain
  • A passion for learning new technology

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Level 3 technical support and consulting services to a variety of organizations:

Primary focus areas

– Networking -design, install, maintain, update and troubleshoot computer networks including use of VLANs, traffic shaping, failover and security.

– Provide pre-sales engineering support to sales personnel.

– Standard development

– Equipment selection

Secondary focus areas

-design, install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows Server, Windows desktop, Mac, including virtual server and SaaS & IaaS

– Work with other team members and end-users to triage, diagnose and resolve technology issues.

– Administration of internal IT servers, such as Active Directory, virtual servers, Terminal Server, Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint.

Common:

– Create and deploy custom settings for managing client systems.

– Install equipment, software and provide technical support.

-Document business processes, including system diagrams

-Position is based on Stamford, CT, some local travel is required, some work from home flexibility.

– Position requires off hours on-call availability.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar discipline, along with 10+ years of related experience.
  • MUST have Experience with:
  • – Sonicwall – VLAN, failover, traffic shaping
  • – Wifi site surveys, design and implementation of solutions using cloud controllers
  • Work with multiple environments
  • Other Technical
  • CyberSecurity NIST standards
  • Windows Server account settings, domain and Active Directory
  • solid knowledge of Windows 10 in domain and workgroup environments
  • Microsoft Office 365

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to work independently with initiative, be a strong team player, have excellent interpersonal, customer service, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work professionally with clients both onsite and remotely
  • Must have strong documentation skills and hands on experience
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Certifications from Sonicwall, Microsoft,CompTia, Cisco etc. a plus
  • LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY, you must live within a 60 minute commute of Stamford, CT. and have reliable transportation for office days and onsite appointments.

Salary: $60,000.00 to $85,000.00 /year
