These are the questions that determine whether a backup strategy truly works, yet many organizations don’t ask them until they are already facing a crisis.

It includes monitoring storage capacity before failures occur, reviewing backup logs for hidden errors, validating data integrity, confirming retention policies remain effective, ensuring backup copies are protected from ransomware, and regularly testing recovery procedures to verify that systems can actually be restored.

Instead of relying on assumptions, organizations gain confidence through continuous verification.
