Naturally McHenry Count Ribbon-Cutting

Crowd attending Naturally McHenry County Ribbon-Cutting

Naturally McHenry County has opened in the Old McHenry County Courthouse, which is located on the town square in Woodstock, IL.  CMIT Solutions was glad to be among the dozens of folk gathered to celebrate the opening, including members of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce, the Algonquin / Lake in the Hills Chamber, the McHenry Chamber of Commerce, the Chain o’ Lakes Chamber, and many more. Naturally McHenry has its finger on the pulse of all the great things going on in and around McHenry County. They’re a great resource for nature exploration ideas, cultural enrichment opportunities, and special event venues, such as might be needed for a wedding, or similar celebration.  Their new space in the Old Courthouse on Woodstock’s town square is easy to navigate and full of interesting things.

I feel an affinity for Naturally not just because I make use of many of the programs and resources they advertise, but because CMIT serves a similar purpose.  There are a lot of things to consider and to do with Information Technology and CMIT often serves as a guidepost for entrepreneurs and business owners who are looking for someone to call when things go wrong with computers, or someone to help them transition from older tech to newer.

Desk phones are a great example of a place companies large and small are modernizing. You can still have a desk phone, but today’s “soft phones” also allow a call to follow a pattern of multiple desks if the call doesn’t get picked up. More importantly, that call could get picked up at a desk phone, a headset, a computer, tablet, or mobile phone. Such features are part of what people are now calling Unified Communications.

I was talking, yesterday, with a woman about cybersecurity, and she confided in me that she wasn’t perfectly sure if her systems were being backed up.  CMIT offers solutions for not just ensuring systems are secure, patched, and backed up, but that the backups are periodically tested, to ensure they will actually work in a crisis.  In my opinion, a backup which cannot be restored is among the most worthless things on the planet.

One of the reasons I purchased a CMIT franchise is that there are  more than 250 of us owner/operators–all invested in our local communities, yet because we are a federation of owners, we are also able to draw on one another to solve problems for our customers throughout the CMIT network. With more than 900 technical team members in the US we may be locally-focused, but we have unprecedented scalability and reach.

So if you’re in or around McHenry County, I encourage you to check out Naturally McHenry County.  You’ll find a lot of great resources you can use to get out and do.  If you have questions about computers, networking, cybersecurity, or phone systems, check us out at CMIT Solutions of Chicago Northwest.
