Beth Lindsay Burnside, PhD
A seasoned executive with more than 25 years of cross-functional experience in business and industry, Beth Burnside is a strategic technology advisor for the small and mid-sized business community in Erie.
As president of CMIT Solutions in Erie, Beth specializes in helping businesses use technology as a tool to meet their strategic business goals. Her office offers a broad range of proactive computer support, security services, monitoring, and consulting services, as well as a quick response for when unexpected crises occur.
Boosting extensive experience in marketing and sales, Beth’s professional background encompasses positions in both large- and small-scale environments. Beth served in business development for Mars, Inc, a leading global food manufacturer, as well as Cooper-Booth Wholesale, a Lancaster, PA-based regional distribution company. She holds both a BS in Marketing and an MBA degree from Penn State as well as a Ph.D. in Organizational Learning and Leadership from Gannon University. Her research emphasis is on leadership, entrepreneurship, and women-owned high-growth businesses.
Actively involved in several professional and civic organizations, Beth is a member of the Erie Women’s Fund, and the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership. She is also serves on the Board of Directors of both the Hamot Health Foundation, where she serves as Chair, and of UPMC Hamot, where she chairs the Quality Improvement Committee, the Regional Health Services Governance Committee and is also a member of the Executive Committee.
Furthermore, she was awarded the first Wallerstein Grant from The Gerry B. Wallerstein Fund and was listed on the inaugural list of Top 50 Solution Providers by CRN magazine. Her business was featured as the cover story in Business Solutions magazine’s issue with the headline of “Four Essentials for Double-Digit Growth”.
