3 Don’ts To Note When Handling Large Clients

Does your law practice or small business have a dependency on large clients? Did you know that large clients have their cybersecurity pretty much in hand and now see small vendors as their risk point in their cybersecurity? If your large client comes to you asking you for your cybersecurity program, what would you do? Hi, I’m Steve Conyers with CMIT solutions, and we help businesses with cybersecurity and other IT related issues. And today I’d like to talk about three don’ts and how that relates to the large clients in cybersecurity. The first one I would recommend is ”don’t discount”. Don’t say, well I’m a small business, what do they expect from me? The large clients are basically thinning their ranks of vendors based upon their compliance or aptitude or attitude towards cybersecurity. And if you think about it, it’s very smart.

It’s the weakest link in many large businesses. When they hand over confidential information to a law practice, they want to make sure that information remains confidential. The second don’t is ”don’t do it alone”. It may seem when you look through it that you can answer all the questions and other things that are there, but there are good minds that you may step on without realizing it, things that they ask that sound innocuous, but actually the wrong answer can send off alarm bells in their minds and cause you a lot of grief in trying to answer about 25,000 more questions, just to clear up that one. And the third and most important thing is ”don’t worry”. Why not worry? because you’re going to not do it alone. You’re going to hire a professional or someone who can help you through it.

And what we do is, we do an assessment, so we know where you stand, we help you prioritize what you’re going to do. And more importantly, we get you through the low hanging fruit, which before the first meeting with the large client, it lets them know that, Hey, you’ve taken care of a lot of the basic things that small businesses don’t. So if you have any more questions about this, or you want some more information, you can see my contact information at the end of the video. And you can look around my website. I have a lot of cyber security tips and tricks there too. Again, it’s Steve Conyers with CMIT solutions. And I’m hoping you have a great day.
