It’s hard to imagine a worse situation: Dayal Bhagat of CMIT Solutions of Roanoke received a call from a small manufacturing company that was not a CMIT client, yet. The company had been down for four full days with no access to their main server, email, accounting system, online ordering system, or phones, and had been told by the D.C.-area MSP they thought they could rely on that they couldn’t help them.
What’s more, it was the week of Thanksgiving, and the CEO was out of the country on vacation.
As fate would have it, a community member shared Dayal’s cell phone number with an employee. Dayal picked up immediately and was on-site within hours.
When he arrived, the first thing Dayal saw was eleven employees sitting idle, with no means of communicating with clients, and no idea of where to begin to fix things. He got to work immediately.
He soon discovered that a firewall had been compromised, and that no one knew the password to the server. Dayal exhausted every resource to get to the bottom of the issue, working 11 hours straight hours until all backup data was recovered and restored and the office was up and running. The only times he emerged from working to resolve the issue were to periodically keep management up-to-speed on what he was doing.
Once the business was able to function again, Dayal continued to work through Thanksgiving week to make sure they were longer vulnerable to another technology emergency. CMIT Solutions upgraded the company’s hardware and software, providing a new, safer, more secure, and more efficient infrastructure.
Asked what he thinks sets him and CMIT Solutions apart from other MSPs, Dayal says he thinks of his clients’ companies as his own. He realizes that small businesses need a true team member when it comes to IT support and cybersecurity, and CMIT Solutions is willing to meet people where they are, offering Enterprise level service and solutions no matter what size of business.
