Many local businesses are looking to identify their security risks, develop a plan to provide endpoint detection and response, perform data backups, and maintain high-functioning equipment and systems. At the same time, many businesses don’t know where to start in the search for companies that can assist and tackle all of this. For 2 Hounds Design, CMIT Solutions was the IT support company they’d been searching for.
The local North Carolina dog product company, known for its colorful collars and Freedom No-Pull Dog Harnesses that offer both safety and comfort, is a U.S.-based manufacturer. The business has been growing since 2003 and ensures both quality products and on-time delivery. As a way to strengthen its established brand and manage a populated office space with extensive equipment, 2 Hounds Design turned to CMIT Solutions in Charlotte.
When CMIT Solutions stepped in, the process involved meeting with the 2 Hounds Design team to lay out an onboarding project—a typical procedure for every new CMIT client. For 2 Hounds Design, this included replacing its unsecured network firewall and switches, adding a UPS unit, replacing older PCs, providing data backups, adding new data cables to the shop floor, and addressing the network closet entanglement.
Over the years, 2 Hounds Design has worked with various IT service companies, none of which were responsive to its requests to properly address the cybersecurity and tech issues it was facing. Jane Westmoreland, Office Manager at 2 Hounds Design, had asked for a major overhaul of its network cabinet in past years with a former MSP, but it was never delivered.
“Our business has expanded a lot over the past few years, and since then we’ve added a lot more equipment to our office space, and it just became one big tangle of wires. We didn’t know what equipment was what; we didn’t know what was where and then CMIT Solutions got all of it straightened out for us. It’s night and day when you walk into our network cabinet these days, and it’s just beautiful in there now,” said Westmoreland.
Now that CMIT Solutions is managing the computers and network system for 2 Hounds Design, the company is significantly more protected from cybersecurity risks. In addition to that, it has endpoint detection and response on all computers, data backup, as well as a network firewall with advanced threat protection and responsive customer service.
“CMIT truly cares. When we met with Emory, the owner of our local CMIT Solutions here in Charlotte, his assessment was extremely thorough. He took the time to write up a detailed quote that would pinpoint areas of weakness, but also shared a clear solution and explanation as to why it was important to get each of those handled,” Westmoreland added. “We were never made to feel like we were doing something wrong throughout the process, instead, CMIT genuinely wanted to help us and took the time to learn about our business rather than just throwing out a quote like a lot of places do.”
