CMIT Solutions Celebrates 30 Years in Business
This year marks a major milestone for CMIT Solutions: 30 years in business.
What began in 1996 as a small, neighborhood computer repair business founded by Georgia Jones has grown into one of the most respected names in managed IT and cybersecurity for small and mid-size businesses nationwide.
Senior Director of Franchise Development Lisa Montanio, who has worked for CMIT for 18 years, shares, “I had the opportunity to work with Georgia Jones, and while she is no longer actively working within the company, we stay in touch. She was a strong example for women building businesses in industries that were traditionally male-dominated and showed that success doesn’t require changing who you are. She approached her work with grace, patience, and a genuine commitment to helping others learn and grow.”
Fast forward three decades from that neighborhood computer repair business, and today, CMIT Solutions protects more than 90,000 users and operates through a network of 300+ franchise locations with over 900 technicians nationwide. With more than $155 million in annual revenue, CMIT has become a leading force in cyber threat protection, without losing sight of the local service model it was built on.
When CMIT Solutions was founded 30 years ago, the technology landscape looked very different. Small businesses needed reliable help keeping computers running – not defending against sophisticated cyber threats.
As technology evolved, CMIT evolved with it. Today, the company delivers enterprise-level IT monitoring, threat detection, and rapid response that’s tailored specifically for small to mid-size businesses that need serious protection without enterprise complexity.
Roger Lewis, CMIT President, comments, “When CMIT Solutions was founded, the goal was simple – to help small businesses use technology with confidence. Thirty years later, our scale has changed, but that mission hasn’t. We’re proud to support thousands of businesses nationwide with the kind of proactive, security-first protection they deserve.”
He continues, “Reaching 30 years in business is an incredible milestone, but it’s also a reminder of how much responsibility comes with protecting today’s businesses. As cyber threats continue to evolve, CMIT Solutions is committed to staying ahead, so our clients can stay focused on running their businesses.”

That balance is the result of strong systems, shared standards, and dedicated franchise owners.”
She adds, “Supporting more than 300 franchise locations requires a deep commitment to process, training, and collaboration. Our teams and technicians are the reason CMIT continues to scale while maintaining the level of service our clients expect.”
Celebrating 30 Years at ChannelCon 2026
CMIT Solutions will celebrate its 30th year in business this August at ChannelCon in San Diego, bringing together franchise owners from across the country to reflect on three decades of growth, innovation, and shared success.
The event will recognize the franchise owners, technicians, and partners, who have helped CMIT Solutions become a trusted IT partner to thousands of businesses nationwide.
As cyber threats continue to grow in sophistication, CMIT Solutions remains focused on what it has done best for 30 years: keeping businesses protected, productive, and prepared for what’s next.
